The production has started by the end of 1980's to the half of second quater of 1990. It was promoted by Carey's debut #1 single in United States, "Vision of Love", and four other singles, that reached the top spot of Billboard Hot 100, "Love Takes Time", "Someday", and "I Don't Wanna Cry". The record topped Billboard 200 for eleven weeks and is certified 9x Platinum by RIAA. It has sold 15 million copies worldwide.
